Nuremberg international airport is Bavaria's second-largest. It is situated some seven kilometres north of Nuremberg and two hours north of Munich by car. Airlines from some 50 destinations in Germany and Europe fly to Nuremberg. Planes landing there come especially from touristic destinations on the Mediterranean, on the Canary Islands, and in Egypt.

The smallest of Bavaria's commercial airports is 3.8 kilometres from Memmingen and 110 kilometres from Munich. Above all, airlines fly to Memmingen from the Mediterranean and the Balkan Peninsula. Flights to and from Memmingen are mostly somewhat more favourably priced than flights to and from Munich.
