Accessible overnight stays in Bavaria

If a journey is to be a genuine success, the overnight accommodation has to be just right too. In Bavaria, holidaymakers to whom comfort and accessibility are important can choose from a large number of ‘Tourism for All’ hosts. The range includes rural holidays on farms, at youth hostels, and in new inclusionary hotels in popular towns and cities. Under this link, your customers can find out about all the offers online or use the search function to find the offers that suit their needs.

German Youth Hostel Association

Some inspire their guests with a kind of mountain hut atmosphere; others are veritable designer facilities in the town or city centre; yet others have gone for a romantic setting in a mediaeval castle. More than 60 youth hostels all over Bavaria have been awarded the motto ‘Tourism for All’. Different as they are in terms of their character, they all provide accessible rooms and premises. The range of amenities they offer is geared to freedom of movement and mobility, unimpaired quality of stay and warm-hearted service. Families, sportspeople, music groups and people of all ages with mobility, hearing, visual or cognitive impairments find rooms with few or no barriers here – together with catering in organic quality – and can choose from many leisure activities with inclusive facilities. At mealtimes, noone is forgotten, so that those of your customers who have food intolerances can also be sure of finding something delicious.

Bauernhofurlaub in Bayern

Farm holidays in Bavaria

Feeding the animals, stroking the cats, helping out in the stable, getting closer to Nature, unwinding and enjoying food which is home-grown and home-produced: a farm holiday is a really special experience for those who didn’t grow up in the country themselves. In Bavaria, a number of holiday and adventure farms have decided to collaborate under the label Blauer Gockel ('blue cockerel'); and that also includes 75 accommodation facilities with few or no barriers. Families with young children also benefit from the ground-level holiday apartments in natural surroundings. In some cases, the inclusionary amenities for guests also include therapeutic riding, a combination of holiday and therapy, or proximity to a medical centre. All this in a restful, tranquil location surrounded by Nature at its most beautiful.

Hotel Einsmehr

Inclusionary hotels in Bavaria

Innovative, inclusionary and perfect starting-points for your customers to go out and discover the beautiful sights of the Free State: there are already more than six inclusionary hotels which receive guests in Bavaria. And they’re increasing in number! The newest addresses include the Hotel EinsMehr in Augsburg, which was the result of a social project. Approximately half of its staff have impairments themselves. Just how excellently they do their job and just how well the amenities for overnight stays – inclusionary and with very few barriers – are received, is underlined by the fact that the hotel won the ADAC Tourism Award for Bavaria in 2023. Regensburg has an inclusionary hotel, the Hotel INCLUDiO. It is the first hotel in this UNESCO world heritage city with a completely accessible concept for people with impaired mobility and wheelchair users. In the Alpine town of Kempten, in turn, the Allgäu ART Hotel inspires its guests right in the middle of the city. Hospital-style beds in family and wheelchair-friendly rooms are a matter of course in this building – which has very few barriers. Prevalent here is a hospitable mixture of Allgäu lifestyle, art and inclusion.
