Creating fine brandies, Franziska Bischof runs Germany’s only shop dedicated to the noble spirit.
A burning passion
In Franconia distillation is an old tradition and a well-known craft for a long time. The Bischof family runs one of many existing distilleries in the region – and they have continued this tradition for almost 100 years. Franziska is the 4th generation and decided to make her parents’ hobby her profession.
Today, she is a state-approved distiller, a fine brandy sommelière and was named “Female Distiller of the Year” in 2018. She still distils the fruit brandy just like her father did in the 1990s. At the same time, she is adapting her range to modern drinking habits, extending the assortment to gin, herbal liqueurs and a ginger spirit.
Franziska’s very special distillery shop is just as many others right on the distillery trail and invites you to stop and linger or offers tastings, guided tours and seminars.
Franziska's Bavarian experience
Take time for a delectable distillery
There’s a special scent in the air when in the presence of fine brandies. Expert distillers like Franziska know why and can introduce you to the craft behind. Then, imagine a tasting session for an all-round experience. Cheers to that.
Franziska´s insider tip
Hammelburg’s August wine festival: Vintners open the gates to their estates, inviting guests to enjoy live music, food and, of course, wine in charming courtyards.
