Herbs are wonders of nature, and Dagmar von der Grün knows them all.
Meet a Bavarian herb whisperer
Anyone who walks through nature with Dagmar von der Grün learns that herbs and wild plants are not only healthy, but also taste really good. The trained alternative practitioner and herbal educator is in complete harmony with Sebastian Kneipp, who became famous as a herbalist in the 19th century and researched the healing powers of over 40 plants. Herbs are Dagmar von der Grün's life. In her own kitchen, she always has a stock of at least 30 jars and tins full of herbs, seeds and roots that she collects herself from the region. The expert also uses the plants creatively to make all kinds of pastes and spreads, herbal salts, vinegars and teas.
Dagmar's Bavarian experience
People, chew nettles!
Who knew; the stinging nettle not only has anti-inflammatory properties but also tastes delicious. On Dagmar von der Grün’s herb walks in the beautiful Altmühltal valley south of Nuremberg, curious wanderers can try chewing the nettle for themselves, collect edible wild plants and herbs and learn how to cook them.
Dagmar's insider tip
Don’t miss the idyllic Hirschbachtal valley in the Franconian Switzerland nature park. The nature is just gorgeous, with stunning rock formations and rare plants. Tip: stop by the local breweries!
