Claudia's little beaded bags are made of yarn and tiny beads.
Beaded bag knitter – Claudia Flügel-Eber
Small things become big art. Claudia has revived an old Bavarian tradition: Bead bags, small hand-knitted bags made of yarn and tiny beads. Even as a child, Claudia loved to tinker with glass beads. When, many years later, she discovered a historic beaded bag at a Bavarian antique flea market, her interest was immediately piqued. She read up on the old craft and began to knit beaded bags. Today, the former hotel manager runs the shop "Carakess" in Regensburg. There she sells her hand-knitted products and introduces customers to the history of the beautiful bags. She has even given the traditional accessories a modern twist by turning them into cool cell phone cases!
